Thanks Bill - W7SMN

Several months ago MBARC member Don - KE7ZDA asked the MBARC board about the possibility of getting an HF radio from the club for use at the Lynden High School where Don is a teacher.  He has taken some specialized training for amateur radio in the classroom in Newington the past two Summers and was anxious to start a radio club for the students at LHS.  The club does own an icom 735 that the board was willing to loan to the school, but the school administration was unable to accept liability for equipment that they did not own.  Around the time the board was looking for a solution to cutting the red tape, MBARC member Bill W7SMN contacted them about donating his HF station to the club for use in promoting the hobby to young newcomers. That was PERFECT timing.  Bill generously donated a complete HF station directly to the school for use in their amateur radio endeavor.  Be sure to thank W7SMN for his donation, and both KE7ZDA and W7SMN for their commitment to education and spreading the word of our hobby to the young people.
