There are two Field Day operations planned for the Whatcom County / Bellingham area this year.  FIELD DAY is the annual outdoor ham radio operating event that is held on the last weekend in June every year, June 25/26 this year.  There are operations in the North and South county.  Come sample both!

The Sudden Valley ARC will be set up at the Marina Park in Sudden Valley, 1 Marina Drive, Bellingham, WA 98229 coordinates 48.71982, -122.324138  They will be operating SATURDAY ONLY from 1100 am local time until around 1800.  Everyone is invited, licensed or not.  The emphasis is on fun and learning.  Directions- Take Lakeway East from I-5 and continue as it changes to  Lake Whatcom Blvd.  You will be about 7 miles East of I-5.  Turn left at Gate ONE in Sudden Valley just past the fire station.  Turn right on Marina drive and go down to the Marina.  In the gravel lot, keep to the right and look for the park/shelter behind the tennis courts. The Blaine Auxiliary Communications Service will operate from the “old Blaine airport” at coordinates 48.989506,-122.732468  Set-up for ACS members will begin Friday night, with operations open to the public from 1100 PDT Saturday until 1100 PDT Sunday.  The emphasis will be on training in radio operations rather than point chasing. Directions: Take the “truck border crossing” exit on I-5 (WA 543) North and turn EAST on BOBLETT St.  Make an immediate SOUTH turn on to YEW and continue about a block to the City Park sign on your left.  Turn left on the gravel past the park and Blaine City shop, following the road around to the North again, through the open gate and around to the front of the steel building.  YES- It is a little hard to find, but worth the effort :)   “Talk-in” on Sumas Mtn 145.230  -.600 tone-103.5
