Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month (except July and August) at The Ferndale Library - 2125 Main St, Ferndale, WAMembership is open to all licensed amateur radio operators, and visitors are always welcome.  Please join us!

New and returning members should use the new unified membership application form to join or renew for the Club, The Repeater Group, and/or the Digital Group

Local Emcomm

Want to be more involved in the community?  The following groups are Emcomm (Emergency Communications) groups in the county.  Each of them is affiliated with a public safety organization.  Membership in these groups is normally free, although training is required.

MBARC is not affiliated with any of these groups, although many of our members also participate in them.

  • Mmmm.... DigiPi   Just last month, the Mount Baker Amateur Radio club elected to donate a DigiPi to the group of hams setting up an EmmComm unit for the Bellingham Fire Department at the Fairhaven station. Here are two videos that show that very DigiPi being constructed. This first video, about 7 minutes, is a high speed version of the second. The video is running at 4X speed and shows the whole project going together. The speed comes back down to normal so you can see it go on the air for the very first time. Stored Equipment

stuff
The club has a significant amount of equipment currently being stored courtesy of Brian K1BJ.  As discussed over the last couple meetings we will be making decisions regarding its disposition this spring and summer.  Please look over these pictures and share your thoughts at future general club meetings. As a reminder, we will ask for volunteers to help sort through this material in an effort to assure we make the best use of it.
